Clarice Smith Distinguished Lectures in American Art
The Smithsonian American Art Museum established the Clarice Smith Distinguished Lectures in American Art in 2004 to present new insights in American art from the perspectives of the finest artists, critics and scholars. This annual series is made possible by the generosity of Clarice Smith. Past speakers have included Peter Schjeldahl, William Christenberry, Roberta Smith, Wanda Corn, Maya Lin and James Rosenquist. The Clarice Smith Distinguished Lectures in American Art are held in the museum's Nan Tucker McEvoy Auditorium, located at 8th and G Streets, NW. All lectures begin at 7 p.m. Limited space; tickets required. Pick up free tickets beginning at 6 p.m. at the G Street Lobby Information Desk. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Daily museum hours: 11:30 a.m. — 7 p.m.
