Two Acrobats 1966 Chaim Gross

Throughout his career, Gross often
returned to the same subject in his
art, as may be seen by comparing this
drawing to his 1932 relief Acrobatic
Performers. The sculpture has a more
rectangular outer definition that conforms
to the original shape of the three-board
panel. In the drawing, Gross first drew a faint circular outline on
the paper and then composed the figures within it; the result is a
more curvilinear composition overall.
