The late Howard Kottler found inspiration in what many would call "kitsch," or low popular culture. In Waiting for Master, Kottler pays homage to man's best friend, but more to the point, he offers a
tongue-in-cheek play on the advertising icon of the loyal dog listening to his master's
voice. Humor is an important element of this monumental ceramic sculpture.
