Pick one of the craft works made from glass, clay, metal, wood, or fiber to sketch on paper or sculpt in Model Magic. Download 36KB SymbolsSymbols are used in art to imply associations of objects or people outside of the artwork. Look at the symbols and colors used in the paintings on the 4th floor of the Luce Foundation Center and put them together in your drawing to find the story the artist is trying to tell. Download 47KB ModernismModern Art is typically considered the time from 1860 to 1970 when artists were moving away from traditional representational art, and towards expressionist art. Examine the 20th-century paintings on the 4th floor of the Luce Foundation Center and try to emulate the emotion and energy that you see in the artwork to create your sketch.
